I have come upon an opportunity to purchase the later style m35a2 wiring harness for less than $500. I was wondering if this is an OK deal or if I should keep looking for better prices? I know there are not many new ones around...

Thanks for the help.

Buy it. Last time Erik's had it in stock I want to say it was $510ish and he's been out of stock for awhile. He said he thought he was going to get more, but he hasn't so far.

VWOM sells them for $1700 rofl

For that kind of money it's probably better to just buy a bunch of wire and some good deutsch connectors/tools and wire the thing yourself. It's not like these trucks have a whole lot of wiring to worry about anyway and you'll have brand new wiring and modern connectors instead of stuff that's been on a shelf for 30 years.

Part of the cost is all the cannon connectors. Headlight switch, turn signal switch, front to rear harness connector, flasher relay, etc. And a lot of packards.

I've made entire harnesses. It's time consuming to do it right and make it look professional.

Yes, cannon connectors can cost well over $100.00 each . That's each end ! It can really add up fast. My little trailer connection box I built for my deuce cost me well over $1000.00 just in parts.

I spent $150ish on eBay for these 6 cannon connectors (3 pairs) and considered myself lucky. I think I'm up to about $600 on my 24-12 converter box project (I'm shamelessly copying most of yours). Brake controller, reverse circuit functionality in 12 and 24V, Bosch relays, etc.
