Hey all, this is my first post here, anyway just got my M1009 and ready to start the mods. I plan on calling ORD getting a 4 inch lift worked out as well, but was wondering whats the biggest tire I should go with, without risk to the axles. I dont plan on wheeling too hard but heard I cant go too high on tires because of the 3:08's, but I want as big as I can get as long as it's safe. I also welcome any advice on lift/tires/general maintenance. Thanks.

Welcome from Germany.......
Read and download the TM's here on the site....
In my opinion the biggest tires for the 10 bolts are 33/12.5/15.
Some people use the biggest tires and then they say......my Truck has no power and no acceleration.
On a stock truck....the larger the tire, the less power.

I second the 33's, you can go 35 without breaking axles but stay skinny if you can it does help. Skinny tires also help fuel mileage.

you do not need a lift for 33's you can do 2 inch and get 35's on it with no serious rubs. If you go with 35's I would at a minimum upgrade to stronger axle shafts.

Anything bigger and you need 4 inch lift and stronger axles, cross over steering.

Thanks for the info y'all. I think I am just going to do the 4 inch lift 15x10's and 33s and focus on bulletproofing the rest of the truck for now, cant wait to get started.

4" lift and 33"s will look funny. 33" fit with no lift just fine.
m1008 dr side lift.jpg This is with 4" lift and stock 31" tires

As mentioned anything bigger than 33" on 10 bolt axles is asking for trouble. Especially with the gov bomb in the rear.

ETA: Talk to the people at ORD, they are very knowledgeable and helpful. Just explain what you want to do to them.
