Truck is really coming together nicely. I was about to offer you my factory shroud extensions but clearly had no problem fabricating your own. Curious did the LS engine placement allow for you to keep the 4l80 in the same factory position?

it’s ok work, doesn’t compare to the stuff you do sir, but I appreciate the compliment.

Factory shroud extensions? I had no idea that’s a thing? Is it an H1 thing or a Humvee? I do believe I should have run the shroud all the way around the fan, but this is what I had here. We will see.

I kept the transmission exactly where it was. Not having to mess with the trans crossmember or the driveshafts is pretty nice.

For anyone watching this and taking notes, it’s a whole lot easier to run a returnless fuel system than using the return style I had already. I was able to swap my rails for a returnless style thanks to a local guy here. I could have used what I had but also had concerns about using the factory fuel pressure regulator built into the rails. In conjunction with my Aeromotive pump I just had thoughts about it long term not being the best.

New fuel tank showed up, glad that’s done. Ordered some headers and they didn’t fit the best. Ordered another set that I think will be better. Sure I could cut the “ears”’off the transmission but I still don’t like the angle the collector is at.

Was traveling for work and came across some Humvee parts for sale. Scooped up a turbo doghouse for $80 and some flappy doors for $150. The Tubro doghouse fits perfect with the LS truck motor. I don’t know what these doors are actually called, but I really wanted a way to access this area when the floor panels are installed. Pretty happy . Just need to clean these parts up a bit and track down the proper mounts for these rubber tie downs.

Trying to get the fuel system done as well as the exhaust, so while the fuel tank and soon to be removed muffler are out of the way, I’m using this as an opportunity to go ahead and remove the camber shims. Not terribly difficult, but a few of the bolts are a little hard to reach. I just loosened everything and tapped the mounts with a hammer and they fell right out. I did cut a 3/4 wrench down for this. If I had the time and patience I’d definitely weld some of these bolt lockers on the mounts, I had no desire to unbolt the control arm to do that.

Driver side is done, glad all that is behind me now. Is it interesting that there were more shims on the passenger side than the driver? Everything is more square now, but toe needs to be adjusted.

driver side one shim, passenger side 3.
