Thanks to all that have posted. The "thread stealers" are very welcome. Lots of good photos and info. Been pretty busy with a MEP-005a genset. Had some fuel pump problems; found one of the series pumps weak so the day tank would not will enough to keep up. Got it running again on one of the pumps.
Finally drove the M35 with the Mack engine. It has as much power if not more than the M923. Funny shift pattern but not that bad. The M923 has a new control module for the air brake warning horn and lights. Ordered it and two pressure switches just in case. Module fixed it. The symptom was the light and horn coming on intermittently above 60 psi. Stenciling numbers and name on it until we can get it painted red. One of the crew found some nice LED work lights for the rear of the M923 bed and pump area
Replaced a missing tool box on the M35 and will be putting a portable water tank back on it. Eventually we'll put a booster reel on it and a portable trash pump to go along with the PTO pump already on it.
