HELP!! Got my Deuce stuck!

Well, I got my Deuce stuck today.

Inertia won this round. Just a LITTLE too much speed. sigh

Anyone close to Stanardsville, VA (Greene County) who might be able to help me get it back up on the road? Sunday would be great, but since the truck is not on the roadway (it wouldn't be stuck if it were!!), then it's not an emergency.

I'm just hoping to avoid having to bring one of the big tow trucks out.

Thought there was a thread on this awhile ago; AAA won't have anything to do with a deuce because it's not a 'true' RV. Something about having a permanently installed toilet in the vehicle to qualify as an RV. Now, in that 109 you could bolt one down and get away with it

Id try digging it out by hand first throw sand down and air down the tires. Id try all that and try to find someone with a full size truck to give you a tug and keep you from rolling forward.

I've got snow in front that it won't roll forward. And that box is about 18 inches from the bumper!! And that's not even the position I started out in!! Kinda funny really.

I actually think (believe it or not) that I have towing on my new policy! I may just wait a day or so until the local "big rig" tow company is free. I just need a little help getting back up on the road.

It sure went through the snow well, as long as I was on the road. The problem was I got a little cocky and didn't slow down quite enough on that turn. Live and learn!!

But maybe I'll try the sand. I've actually got some of that real coarse ground "coke" (I think that's what it is) for sand blasting. That would probably work better than regular sand.

The problems I see are that the front wheels are spinning in/on wet clay, and left rear set does not have enough weight on them because of the lean of the truck. And the right side is one some slippery soil, also. Fun, fun, fun!!! At least it isn't buried up the hubs in mud! Too bad I didn't bring that other deuce from NM in September! It had a winch on it!

I'm glad you posted this, it brings up a question I have, since I've lived in the North just a short time. My duece came with tires chains when I bought it, 2 duallie sets. In a situation like this, where the vehicle is unable to move forward or backward, is it still possible to "chain up," or is it too late? Don't mean to hijack the thread...

Sawdust works well on these sorts of problems.

One trick I learned long ago, is put the sand/sawdust on top of the spinning tire, and it will get dragged under the tire where you need it.

you can also take a couple 2ft long pieces of 4x4 chain them to the back of the front tires going through the hole in the wheel then put the truck in reverse back up slowly .after it has climbed out of the holes repeat as needed but that can get you out to

1-shovel out around EVERYTHING to eliminate any resistance.
2-throw some 3/4 crush road mix gravel,or coarse sand,or throw some chains under the tires.Or go ahead and put on some tire chains.
3-then again,maybe a tow truck bill would be cheaper than replacing that box!

I like that idea have to keep that in mind. Dig the snow around and maybe then all you need is to get a little pull from a civvy truck.
