Help me identify this leak?

Went for a short drive today - 2 hours or so. After parking it (2 hours or so) I see this leak. Can you help me identify what's leaking?

Hm good call...! Just checked. It looks really high! Don't know what happened there. Leave it or bleed it?

Is it diesel fuel? There are some small rubber plugs next to the glow plugs on the fuel return lines that rot and leak fuel. The fuel leaks down the motor from everywhere and it is hard to find where it starts. Check for a cleaner spot where it has been leaking. Eddy

Turned the truck back on and it's literally gushing..

ATF is the fluid used in the power steering system. The hydraulic steering pump powers the steering, hydroboost for the brakes, and the fan clutch. The pictures you posted are all around that area. Check out that system...

Might be input shaft for steering gear. The seal fails from dirt, drying out, then it starts leaking. Inner seal is replaceable.

My steering box shaft just started leaking one day, looked just like yours....I replaced my steering box .

The steering gear can be had at local stores, they are the same box as any hummer H1 from 1992-2004.
i always use 1998 as a model year to cross ref.

hose it all down with brake cleaner...get it clean, run the truck and look again to isolate where it coming from.
ive seen many times that a hose clamp is loose....and I mean many times.

It's literally bubbling out from one end.



I purchased the one at O'Rilieys .. $240 including $20 core charge.

yes and yes, as long as they are for the 7700 and 10300 H1 and not the 12,100. That is some serious money though. Try mv suppliers here or the auction sight.

I would strongly suggest that you look at the vent system in your truck. When the cooling loop in the transfer case lets go it fills everything with ATF. It's referred to as the "vampire" because of the ATFs color. There are several great posts about the problem here and around the internet. Do some searching and you'll learn all you need to know and more.
