Looks like I'm the newest member of the death wobble club.... I just can't seem to win with this truck. But I'll start poking around looking at the various parts mentioned and see if I can figure out whats loose and jacked up.

The lash adjuster on my steering gear was almost 4 turns out before I felt any resistance. I tightened it just barely FINGER TIGHT and locked the nut down making sure I didn't turn the adjuster with it. It seemed to help but I'm sure ultimatly I will be replacing the gearbox.

I have rebuilt the front axle king pins and bushings and want to replace the swaybar bushing as well. This is a Chevy K30 dual wheel crew cab I bought at Fort Stewart and is a silverado with auto transmission, cruise and air. I am guessing Chevy was short a truck to fill an order and pulled a Silverado to complete it. All the other trucks on the same sale were plain Janes with manual transmissions. I local parts houses cannot get the correct bushings so I am guessing the bar was upgraded to military specs. Can anyone tell me where to get the bushings????

Definately go with the two piece bushings, it's almost impossible to insert the one piece. Measure the diameter of the bar, there are two sizes but yours should be the 1.25".

i had a bad case of death wobble also between 35 - 45 mph, i just balanced the tires with airsoft beads, preloaded each kingpin with 2 fender washers and not even a hint of death wobble

I have to put in a plug for Summit Racing. I called them at 4:00 PM yesterday to order my bushings. The parts man was excellent, found my parts in a couple minutes, turned me over to a Lady for payment and shipping and she was super. Today at 11:00 AM the parts were on my doorstep. Tonight there are installed and tomorrow I will test drive the truck. WOW, you can,t get faster service than that and the parts fit to. Give them a try if you need parts.
