Hey, welcome to the forum! There are some M37 guys out lurking around. There used to be a couple guys on the previous forum here, but they were lost after it crashed. I think I have their emails somewhere. I'm sure they would be glad to get back on and talk about their trucks with you. Good luck with your project. Tell us about it when you get a chance.

'63 M37B1, 7600 miles on odometer. Appear to be original, judging by the condition of the truck, and the engine interior. Engine was stuck from humidity rust in the top end, when I picked it up, but it freed and ran and drove very well, if I pull started it. Very little compression, as all top rings were broken. Engine is out for rebuild. Working on painting parts as I can for reassembly. The only rust on the truck are on the bottom of the tool box front outside corners.
Colors on it are an odd dark gray, over fire engine yellow, over the original military.
Drove over 1000 miles one way to pick up this supposedly "running" truck. Then just couldn't see making the drive home without it.

I have an M37, not sure of the year or where to look. It's not your typical military vehical, it's got a Wayne 16" chipper on the back. The truck runs and goes good, but not road worthy. Would like to inclued a pic. but don't know how. Tried the above links but they don't work?

DSG, that sounds like an interesting truck with that chipper hooked up. Does it run off of the PTO?

I have a 62 Dodge M43 <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_cool.gif" alt="Cool"> its the cousin of the M37. I saved her from a local guy who used her to deliver Granite and Marble counter tops to Aspen. It was his daily driver doing about 140 miles a day, he said it was just too slow <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_sad.gif" alt="Sad">. He had it painted White <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_clown.gif" alt="Clown"> and it looked like a milk truck<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_angry.gif" alt="Angry">. I got most of the truck sandblasted.

I'm still torn on what to do with her! All the metal is 100% straight and rust free <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_cool.gif" alt="Cool">. I would love to get her back into the way she looked in 62, but the only thing that stops me is the guy gas axed something out of the back and I'm not sure what? I'm told this model is "Rare" only 1000 made <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_question.gif" alt="Question"> . So if anyone out there has any stats or comments, bring them on! It sure would make a fine camper for where I live! That's a great looking ambulance. I have seen a couple of them completely redone with the litters and everything. They are real show stoppers and always draw a crowd. IMHO, resto is the way to go. Good luck<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_cool.gif" alt="Cool">

Just wondering if anyone noticed that custom window defroster, in the interior cab pic? It really works, and it was done while in service. Approved or not, somebody was tired off fogged/frozen windsheilds!

da sgt, Nice truck! FWIW, I'd go for original, if you're leaning at all that way. There are other trucks out there for mods that aren't as nice as yours.
My opinion is that a guy can do whatever he wants with his stuff, but it's better to modify an incomplete truck than cut a nice one up. (I repeat: MY OPINION!)

About 250 <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_shock.gif" alt="Shock"><img src="emoticons/icon_smile_shock.gif" alt="Shock">
After that I parked it (I couldn't drive a "MILK" looking truck).<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_disapprove.gif" alt="Disapprove">
So I began the process of sandblasting <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve">, of course I tired of that <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_shock.gif" alt="Shock">! One more mod. that the guy I got the M43 from made.
He added some lock-out hubs to the front,
