How high is your oil Preasure

OK I have been having problems with the oil preasure gauge. I installed a remote gauge under the hood to check on it the lowest I seen it get at idle was 50 psi. Today I installed an aftermarket in place of the stock. Took it out for a ride and oil presure runs at about 90psi at 2600 rpm at 55 mph. Seems a little high to me.

I think mine runs around 80 or so when I first start it up and if I remember right it at least stays above 60 at full throttle.

Hot on mine is 30 at idle, 60 at highway. The manual calls for less.. perhaps your regulator is sticking.

Or maybe you have a 0-60 sender on a 0-120 guage. The senders look different. the 60 LB one is very cylindrical, like a GM one from 1970. anyone got oil sender pictures?

Hmm, I too would like to see pics of those. The oil pressure in my truck has read 120 PSI since I bought it. I always just assumed that I had the wrong sender for the gauge, never really messed with it. I've put a little over 2,000 miles on it that way, so I guess it's nothing horribly bad.

Mine's 80 psi plus cold, 70 hot, 50 idle hot. Other truck runs 10psi lower.

Mine is 60 cold around 30 hot around 60 at road speed.Seems to run fine no engine noise.

My 5 ton runs 60 at startup and on the highway and 30 at idle HOT.

Rule of thumb is 10 lbs of oil pressure to every 1000 rpms. So 30 psi and over your good to go.

i run 90 cold, 60 hot/ cold idle, 30 hot idle.

Mine goes to 120 upon startup but once the engine is warm at idle it runs at less than 30psi.

I had trouble with the stock gauge, so I replaced it with a new 120psi sender and 120psi gauge and it worked well for over a year them it went haywire again. So I installed a manual pressure gauge, I have 55 or so psi at start and 50 when it is running down the highway.
