Hmmwv fuel delivery run issue

I narrowed it down to the fuel tank. I installed a new mechanical fuel pump, new filter, all new soft lines, with no improvement. I was still starving for fuel. I took a gas can full of diesel and ran it straight to the fuel pump bypassing the tank. It runs perfect off the gas can. Next to to pull the fuel tank. This is what Mike Vaden said from the beginning. I am expecting a clogged pickup. Too bad the access panel isn’t large enough to remove the fuel assembly without dropping the tank. Will let you know the final outcome, at least it’s not the IP.

Well at least you are making progress!! PITA but much cheaper than a IP,

The conclusion is the pick up from the tank was cross threaded where it connects to the hard fuel line. It was sucking air right there. There was no way to tell until I took the tank out and pressurized that one fitting with air and soap. The tank removal wasn’t that bad. It gave me a chance to clean it out and replace all the seals.
