HMMWV just delivered. Do I try and start after fresh fuel, oil and filters?

Your waiting on parts that have zero to do with a running healthy motor…The hose is off the top of the injec pump because GP attempted to make it run,t hey get more money for running trucks.
while you may get fuel from the over flow, does not mean the pump is any good. you will get fuel from the
that drainback as the cold advance is active and that’s when that drain is active.
The most common failure from the auction is the pump shaft is sheared and the plungers are not working, this can be witnessed by no fuel at the injectors or pull the top of the pump and have someone spin the motor and watch for the shaft to spin and watch the plungers.
I didn't think I could run the engine with the cdr valve missing. That's what I was waiting for. But now I know that doesn't matter. I'm pulling the top cover off ip pump and checking for rotation of shaft as soon as I get t25 security bit. My tools get feet at my shop.

Retired War Horses/Steve rebuilds HMMWVs professionally, so you should consider everything he says very carefully.

He’s a great guy and has always helped me in a pinch.

He also is able to help out with providing certain parts, as is 86humv.

I agree Retired War Horses is a asset. Especially with the amount of trucks he deals with. I appreciate all the info he can give me.

6.5 na diesel is 15w40?
Use the Rotella T4 15/40. Don't use synthetic oil in the truck. Get whatever "Fuel" out of the tank and start with some clean diesel. I suspect as others do that rig has been sitting for a very long time. What shape are the tires in? Keep us posted.
