I hit the mother of all potholes today on a farm road. It looked harmless, but..oh boy. Anyhow, my height-adjustable HMMWV seat slammed all the way to the bottom and stayed there. It now no longer locks at height.
It adjusts height by means of two toothed half circles on either side that are locked together at the desired height by a short pin mounted on a carrier. The two carriers are connected via a handle. When pulled, the pins lift out from between the teeth and adjsutment can occur.
In any case, it seems the pins are bent and/or the gap between toothed wheels and pin is too great.
Before I hit the thing with a BFH - has anyone had to fix this particular issue/upgraded the mechanism? Sorry, too dark for pics today.
