Joel,

The button provides a ground for the horn. The wire can be pulled up the column without dismantling the steering box. A length of wire can be used to fish the new horn wire up the column, But it can be a PITA to do. I have done it before, and usually takes more than one try to get it right.

So I bit the bullet and rewired the button. there were 6 :shock: splices between the button and the horn. all of which were just twist & tape.

Hmmmm...Joel, you better check the rest of the wiring on your truck. :)
Twist and tape is not an approved mil spec method as far as I know....
