How do I tighten XM818 hand brake

I have tried using a socket wrench and plires to tighten the bolt on the hand brake on my XM818 but with no sucess. Can someone tell me how to tighten it?

Go clock wise on the knob on the hand brake to tighten. If the handle is stuck or maxed of threads follow the cable to the drum brake on the driveline and tigthen the cable there-easy as pie Make sure you have a decent amount of friction material on your shoes as you have 20,000lbs relying just on this setup when the truck is running and in neutral.

How do you hold the cable part still while you tighten the nut on the drum brake arm (at the end). Did I make any sense?

A wrench or vice grips on the unthreaded portion of the cable end.
