How many M925A2's built in 1989 ?

Does anyone know how I can find documentation for the production run on a M925A2? My truck is too new to qualify for historical plates ( has to be 25 years and older), but the DMV told me that if I can provide proof that there were only 2000 or less made that year I would be able to qualify for historical plates. That would save me a lot of money.

Over 30,000 of the M939 series trucks were delivered to the U.S. military. Of the many models in the M-939 series of 5-ton, 6x6 trucks, the most common in service were:

• M923 Truck, Cargo
• M925 Cargo Truck w/Winch
• M927 XLWB Truck
• M931 5-ton Tractor
• M936 Medium Wrecker.

Don't know the numbers per year though.

Could not have been too many trucks built as they (AM General) stopped production in 1989. BMY Harbsco won the production contract from AM General.

I suppose that if you contact AM General, someone there probably could give you the production numbers.

AM General relocates to downtown South Bend.

The trucks were built in Marysville Ohio.

Good luck with AMG. They dont pass info out to anyone on exMV's they have made. Ask any HMMWV owner that has called/emailed. All you get is a CLICK as they hang up.

I actually received a letter on AM General letterhead indicating how many M929s were produced in 1984 for exactly this purpose. Problem is...contacting AM General for BMY Harsco info is not going to do you any good. Contact me via PM if you are interested in my pursuing BMY info. I know the guy who bought out BMY, but he is not too keen on dealing with civvies...he mainly sells back to the govt. Oh yeah...no guarantee I can help. I am reliant on someone else being willing to help.

I understand that. You are looking for a difficult number just to avoid a license fee.
