How to disable thread auto-subscribe?

Every thread I post in is automatically subscribed to and I get emails informing me of new posts. This is nice sometimes, but I don't want that for every thread I post in. Is there a way to set the default to not subscribe to a thread? I for the life of me can't find the settings for this.

Go to user CP, Scroll down and click edit options. Again scroll down to message/notfications. make your adjustments on Default thread subscriptions mode.
