WOW ! That looks assume ! I wonder though, if you had to do it all over again would you still use the camper or would you just build from scratch ? I mean you totally gutted that thing and basically rebuilt it.

Yes I would. It saved a lot of framing work.

Now if I had deep pockets I would have built from scratch with fiberglass skins and a nice rubber roof.

I am currently trying to find a way to get a smooth surface on the plywood siding so it will look more like metal. (At little or no cost)

Have you tried "Bondo" ? My good buddy did that on his camper and it worked fine.

If you need to do the roof, I highly recommend using any generic aftermarket automotive truck bed liner. Its paintable, tough, and will last forever without cracking, as it has built in UV blocking properties.
I redid the roof on my parents 38' Eldorado Rv, and it lasted 10yrs until they sold it. It survived hailstorms, tree branch strikes, wind, saltwater, and also strengthened the roof, allowing us to use it for relaxing like a patio.

Be careful on which bed liner u use previous owner of my m146 used roll on liner and now it leaves very hard to get off streaks down all sides of my new paint job. He also used black which makes roof so hot you can here it buckle.

Please explain more I am really intrested on this idea, I can probably coad it with elastic roof sealant in white color?

I used a roll on roof sealant after I calked and sealed the seams with RV seam sealer. The roof is aluminum.

I have noticed a little moisture around the refrigerator. After some investigation it appears a branch hit the vent pretty good.

Time to get out the extension ladder I guess.

Did you use the truck bed liner at all?

No.

I find that a product designed for an application usually works better than one that's not.
I have had experience with the brush / roll on bed liner and it's not even close to the professional stuff. Found it had a vary short life span for it intended purpose, would not wan't to trust my roof to it.

I find that a roll of electrical tape works good to protect reflectors from paint.

Also I have seen questions about Krylon or Rustoleum paint.
The color is so close between then that I use them both on the same job.
Krylon is easier to spray but Rustoleum last longer in the elements.
So base coats Krylon final coat Rustoleum.

Started my AC install today by modifying the heater box to take an evaporator.

Have a complete AC set for an 1985 full size chevy blazer.

Made bracket for accumulator, Added pag oil and installed in truck. Also installed a valve in heater hose.

At some point I will have to deal with the top of the evaporator box being uneven.
It bothers me. Wished I had noticed when I screwed it on.

Mounted the condenser today. I got lucky or God was looking out for me. The condenser is the same with as the radiator so I was able to screw it right to the radiator sides.


The radiator slopes and the bottom is closer to the brush guard. So I cut the cross bar loose and welded it in pulled a little forward.

Now I wished I had kept my heater box original so I could install one of these in it ! I'm looking forward to hearing how this AC system performs !
