I forgot to include:

I did not add the dye to the fuel tank. I drained some from the final filter and used a syringe to inject some into the filter through the bleeder valve.

Heath, I agree this is a temporary repair.

Some members here have them available.
$250-550
Not too bad to change.
A lot depends on fuel quality and how much time it sits.
Kenny decides to buy another batch from china and tells everyone to send him your money.

would there be any interest in another group buy of heads and nozzles? I might be up for it again.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out(though I kinda knew it wouldn't). I think your better off this way. If things go wrong fixing your old HH, don't chuck it in the trash. There is still usable parts on it. If you need it out of the way, I would be happy to buy it from you.

Hello All

I am in the process of removing the old HH. The instruction is to turn the engine by hand.

I looked in the forum and did not find answers, so here are my questions.

1. Is there risk of engine kicking back ?

2. I am assuming it can not burn fuel and begin to start with the lines from the HH to the injectors disconnected. If I am wrong please warn me.

3. Do I turn from the nut on the crank shaft pulley at the bottom. ?

4. Is it 1 5/8 inch ? Or 1 9/16 inch ?

thank you
Rodger

you need to do a lot of reading first and be sure you understand what you are doing or you will be in way over your head. the best way to turn the engine is with the trans in 5th and the transfer in neutral, and a bar in the u-joint. line up the red tooth with the pointer and then DO NOT TURN THE ENGINE until you are finished. if it turns you will really regret it. your old HH will be of little use and a crack can never be repaired in such a high pressure device. i would have your injectors tested before you try to start it, something caused that crack.

when you remove the shutoff cover, one of the exposed gear teeth will have a scribed line and was originaly colored red. turn engine until it lines up with pointer.
