I have run across a spare set of injectors. Since I run alot of wmo in my truck, I would like to have these serviced and start swapping out injectors in sets. Has anyone taken their injectors to have them cleaned and tested and what does something like that cost?

Ha. If you've "run across a set", they are probably junk. You should watch where you are driving.

Thanks for the helpful post gimp, have been wondering the same thing. Not that i know any of mine aren't working fine but clean injectors can do wonders for any diesel. Considering how old these trucks are seems like it might be a good idea to pull em and have them checked out.

I came across about 75 American Bosch 2 hole injectors for our Multifuel engines, took them and 4 injector pumps and a screwed up injector pop tester (courtesy of one of our members) to DW Diesel Electric in Latham, NY last summer. They tested all the injectors and put about 15 in a "GOOD" box and the rest in the "NOT GOOD" box, built one perfect injector pump out of 4 parts pumps(and set it for 5% more power than stock), and fixed the pop tester. It all cost me $475. I know they charged $295 for the pump rebuild, so $180 went to fixing the pop tester and testing all the injectors. I was satisfied with the cost. They showed me two types of injectors, 1 being an adjustable by wrench to increase pop off pressure injector, type 2 being adjusted by shimming to raise pop off pressure. They can't get the new shims anymore, so they said to save the bad injectors for parts for the future. My 2 penny's worth. JT out

Hmmm, about 10 years ago I tossed 6 injectors in an ammo can full of diesel fuel. Been in the garage ever since. I should get them out and have them popped.

there probably just a bunch of scum on the bottom of the can by now lol.

Really Gimp I ran just about everything but Diesel in my deuce and never had a problem. just change out the filter and your good to go. I would run a good amount of gas in one take every year or so to wash everything out. Other then that don't wast your money having sets of injectors laying around.

I took my injectors in to a performance diesel shop to be tested and balanced. They have not seen the connector or military standard fittings before. I searched and found a person from 2007 that bought ferrules but would not tell where he got them.

Where can I get some ferrules to make a test line?

Is there a fitting that will adapt?

Will he need specs on these injectors as in when should they pop?

Any information would be great.

AL, I think the consensus is you need to buy a new injector line if yours is screwed up. Ther reason being is you'll have to cut off the old one since they bite into the line. In cutting that off to put a new one on, you are shortening the injector line and changing the timing of the motor. I do not hold this as fact, just what I have learned by reading other's posts. Feel free to call if you have questions.

I would think so. Think the Tm's said just make it 3000. Please double check.
