Looking for insurance, for coverage on a 65' M109A Shop Van. Contacted Gulfway today and they do not insure commercial vehicles.

Intent is to make truck ready to be used 'ocassionally' for work. What have others done in similar situations?

Thanks for stopping by.

You need to find someone that does commercial insurance. After you get the quote, and pick yourself up off the floor, you will decide that the M109a will be a pleasure vehicle.

Most of the non-commercial policies fall under the 'antique auto' genre, with a lot of restrictions on use. Now if you restore it to appear similar to how it was used in the military, inside and out, and you are not towing a trailer of any sort, then you can probably get insurance that will allow 'test drives' on occasion (probably a couple of times a month). Once you are using it to make money, it will have to have commercial insurance, even if only one day a year. And commercial plates, etc.
