Is there a "B" Turbo?

I have looked everywhere and can't figure out what turbo I have on my 86 a2, it's got what is definitely a "B" stamped on it.

No if it is a 465 LDT it is either a C or D turbo . Several links in post #2 of this thread and how to tell the difference.

They came with either a C or a D or none
Please post the picture of the big B turbo you have

If the engine has a "C" turbo one can tell even if the truck just drives by.
There is whistlers and then there is other flavors.
If you can't hear it then you don't have one.

I have an original '87 Air Force A2, It is equiped w/ a "D" turbo.

I have two Deuces, the 1985 & the 1987, both Air Force A2's, have D turbos also.

There is no correlation to year, and which turbo you have.

You simply have what you have.

There's also the larger turbo that showed up before the "c" or "d" turbos. My 1973 or 74 had one, I'm guessing it was used on the factory turbo trucks before the others were upgraded. It has a large dataplate on it so it's easy to identify. Since as far as I know "c" and "d" are made up names I guess we could call it a "b" turbo (but I'd rather not).

If your in-tank pump is good it should fire up with a little starting fluid.
