Only asking because my brother gifted me 2 brand new yellow tops for Christmas. Curious if these can be used somehow, or if a specific battery is needed?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Very good information. If lady luck looks in our direction, we might be joining our USMC son at Camp Pendleton. No more freezing weather, and I already have a way to legally drive a HMMWV in CA.As long as they physically fit in whatever location you want to mount them, and you can secure them.
Also, the original 6TM battery was rated around 660CCA, so as long as they are above that you should be okay.
I've been told the HMMWV will even start on a pair of lawnmower batteries, but that was in commifornia, so probably didn't have to deal with colder weather like you might get in your neck of the woods.
They have spacers made for this swap to go from the 6TL to the Optimas. I run the red tops (like the ones below) in my 91 M998.

Are those red round boots military or ______?Yeah that pic is not my HMMWV but you can set up the batteries up properly without issue. Below is my truck. You can see the tape as an attempt to cut down on the creaking sounds which in these trucks us an effort in futility.

If military, do you have a part number?
Where do you get them from?To help avoid fireworks mentioned above, there are OEM plastic hold down brackets available for around $100.
