Is this a formed hose or just heater hose?

I am planning to swap all my cooling system hoses and do a coolant change. Is this hose shown below just a length of heater hose or is it a formed hose? It's the hose between the water pump and the thermostat housing. When I first looked at all the formed hosese I thought I needed, I thought this was just straight heater hose, but I'm questioning that now that I'm looking at it again.

It is preformed. Here’s an article I found. Seems it’s difficult to find the OEM one by part or stock #. This article discusses using a different hose. Beware though, they also discussed leaks!

I have a 6.2 so mine is a bit different I am guessing. That is the water pump bypass hose I think?

I bought a "complete" kit that supposedly had every hose for my app. Well, not so much, and not the right hoses. They did not include the bypass hose, and the hose that went to the surge tank was the one for the flat bottom tanks and I had a cylinder shaped surge take. Nor did them enclose any heater hoses, clamps, or thermostat even though they included the thermo housing and gasket.

That article is correct, the fittings on each end of the bypass hose seems like it is different sizes.

So I went to the local auto parts store and tried to find the bypass hose, heater hoses and something that would work for the surge tank. I found one that worked for the bypass hose, and the heater hoses were just 5/8 standard heater hoses, but they had nothing that I could substitute for the surge tank. So $75 later plus exorbitant shipping, I got the right hose. There were a couple very small diameter hoses that I did not touch that seemed to go to a sensor mounted to the body near the top of the brake master cylinder. Not sure what this sensor is for, but I did not touch it the hoses.

Someone once told me: if it ain't broke - don't fix it! But after removing the old hoses, I found some marked as over 20 years old. But of course now, the AC compressor does not engage so no AC and the Florida Inferno is start up. So I have to fix that next!

I'm not quite sure how I managed to brake the AC. ARGH!!!!

EDIT: I just knocked loose the pressure sensor electrical connector on the dryer so that was an easy fix.

Have you received it yet and is it formed? I found the 23500084 referenced in that article at both kascar and Mac, but the hose in the picture for kascar is just a length of 3/4 heater hose. No pic at Mac motors and they show out of stock.

Looks like early trucks use a straight piece cut from bulk hose....
23500084 is for detuned 6.2 and 6.5 n/a, 5" long
10243629 is for 6.5, 5 1/2" long

5744460 is only $9.08 at Mac. That over 25% less.
$9.99 at adventure accessories.
I believe the turbo trucks use a wider diameter preformed hose. I dont know at what point in n/a that it moved up.

I was just curious what the "correct" bypass hose would have been for my 6.2 but it seems VERY different than just a 5" So I googled 23500084 and it shows as 3/4" id at each end? Looks like it is just a section of 3/4" heater hose to me?

On my rig maybe someone changed the water pump or the fitting on the water pump I have, but the pump end is definately smaller - maybe 5/8" probably. So I had to double clamp it to get it to seal.
