is this normal? installing the injection pump center part poped out

this just happened putting in the pump does this matter? i hit it on the coolant crossover.. i hope not. need to get this done.. thanks

never had that part in the middle pop out like that.. not sure what its called...other pumps i have laying around the center part doesnt pop out.. know what i mean?

As I have done 2 of these installs, that is normal.

I will be doing an IP here again soon, but when it is not 90-100 outside, so it will likely be fall.
