I strongly believe the last digit is incorrect. Out of several thousand deuces I've looked at, I've never seen a SN with the last digit a letter.

Care to take another look?

I see in your sig line it says "1968 Kaiser maybe, will see what comes back on the SF97". It will come back whatever info you put on the form. They just put on there the info you provide so it covers their hind-end if something is wrong.

We are talking about GL they still put what ever on the SF-97. I now have to get a title fixed because I'd didn't double check the SF-97 when I got it back. They put in the wrong vin #. And I did not catch it untill after the title paper work went thought

If I recall correctly (can't look at my research at this moment), the registration numbers were somewhere in the 4K_ _ _ 71 range when the plates changed from General Products Division to AM General. I am trying hard to nail this down, 'cause this will speak volumes as to when each truck was built in the year (month of year, that is)

My data is not conclusive as to at what VIN the builders plates changed. Perhaps someone on the list with a truck whose VIN is close to you, AND that has the original data plate, will chime in.

I did a search and found a match on the manufacture number listed and someone with the same manufacture number with that listed it as a AM general.
