9TH ANNUAL LIVING HISTORY and VETERAN TRIBUTE EVENT JUNE 5-6, 2010 RECLAIMING OUR HERITAGE

Reclaiming Our Heritage Milwaukee VA

The event has several goals: to honor veterans, to provide veteran benefit information, to highlight the architectural and cultural treasures of the National Soldiers Home Historic District, and to bring history to life. It accomplishes these goals by staging a Civil War School Day and a two-day, free-admission, family-friendly patriotic celebration in the heart of Milwaukee. The weekend event includes a multi-era military encampment, veteran tributes, entertainment with historic flair, lantern tours of Wood National Cemetery, guided tours of the buildings and grounds, and much more.

This is a great family event. Lots of military vehicles. All era's. The M35 and trailer is hitched up, loaded and we'll be leaving tomorrow morning. The Vietnam Motor pool should be set out by early afternoon.

IF you have not attended before, don't miss the twilight military cemetery tour. It is awsome. Re enactors step out at each stop and speak in the first person about their service. If you like music, don't miss Wisconsin's First Brigade Band concert. The evening concert in the cemetery is a real tear jerker.

Lots to do and see.

See you there.
