M816 needed the transfer case sprag air cyl. rebuilt today.
While I was doing that I tested the sprag shaft to see if it has a Netrual return. It has been awhile since I did the last repair on a air cyl. and I did not check to see if the sprag shaft would go into forward and reverse sprag plus return to a netrual.
Today I found that there is no netrual and the sprag shaft can easely be put in forward and reverse with no netrual spring to hold it in netrual.
The Military is wrong and I would say if you made the air cutoff mod to the poppets to put it back the way it was.
