I's like to see a photo of the ramp, stowed and in use, I like that idea (A LOT)!
Sorry it's taken me a while to get around to this. I'm trying to get motorhome conversion finished-up so I can hit the road, and it's consuming ALL of my time and energy. I've got more pictures that help explain how I installed it and how it fits between the skids under the M109 box, but at least this pic shows what it looks like in-use. I haven't finished designing/building the mechanism that will secure it when the ramp is stowed. Right now I just use a ratchet-strap. Too many other, more important things to do...

I'm just guessing but it looks like you bought a U-Haul, robbed the box and ramp. If that is correct, could you also rob the "Official" U-Haul ramp holder "Thingy" and create a mount for it to hold your ramp?

Looks like you have a perfect place on the front of that trailer to mount a generator... You have plans for that spot? Did you do anyting inside the trailer or just leaving it as an open box?

Yeah, that's exactly what I did. I actually got rid of that trailer and bought an M103A3, and I'm building a custom enclosure for it. Just wanted something a little bit smaller, and it will be full of tools and toys. Sort of a mobile workshop.

The boarding ladder you showed us is not for the M109. The base of the ladder is wrong and the 2 eyelets on the sides are also not for the M109 mounting. Yes the ladder can be repaired. You just need some YANKEE ingenuity and elbow grease. I am attaching a picture of my boarding ladder for comparison.

This thread is a year and a half old. I think he solved his problem a long time ago.

Just went to Google, did a search on "M103A3 trailer" and then clicked on "Images". A picture of YOUR AVATAR was on the second line of pictures!

If you have the time throw up some pics of your trailer build. I love seeing what other people are doing, gives me lots of ideas for when I finally get to get my project rolling!

I don't suppose you happen to have some weight numbers for the steel-vs-aluminum ladders do you?
