Leaking axle... and not the good kind

I bought a sheet of rubberized cork from mcmaster-carr and cut my own.

Remember guys, when the gear lube is going through, it is washing the grease out of the bearings, so look for hot spots on the spindle, if it has been leaking for a while.

I did the same as Scott above. I purchased a couple packages of mixed gasket material at the local NAPA. Cut my own wedges and installed them with a liberal amount of RTV just for a little extra insurance.

I use pipe gasket from work. Size is almost perfect. Here is some photo's

This material is viton and is resistant to chemicals, heat, and oils. You can pour 78% sulfuric acid on this rubber no problem.
