LED headlight - low beam out

Got a set of Grote 24V miltary LED headlights (take-offs) from a member here. Swapped them out, all hunky-dory, everything works. Today I notice that one headlight no longer works on low beam. High beam is fine; all lights up. In other words, the LEDs themselves work.

Does that mean that an interior part is shot? I have lollipops on my truck that feed off the low beam connector, so I know there is voltage on the low beam connector.

Suggestions welcome. A little disappointed right now. Had to fix a fuel drip and my horn quit. My truck hates me.

Very interested in any fix for this. One of my LED headlights came with low beam 'not working'.

Would love to have a fix for that.

Bulb is toast I suspect. They are sealed units.

If its anything like the trucklite led signal lights I'd be surprised if there is a way to fix them. I cut one open to discover everything but the tips of the leds are coated in a hard epoxy. I don't if you could melt it out or not without damaging something else.

I had the same issue with a set of mine a while back. I found that there is no fix for them other than to get another light. I know that's not the way we in this hobby like to do things but with those lights it's the only answer.

Unfortunately that is what I ended up doing as well. I had hoped that one of the electronics wizards on this site might find a fix for what appears to be a not uncommon problem on both LED head- and taillights. I also had a taillight lose half of its LEDs and someone answered that he has an oil drum full of these, with no fix forthcoming.

The LED lights are awesome when they work - and (pricey) junk when they don't

I would have to chop open another of my burnt out tail lights to see, but if the potting could melted out and not melt the housing or fry anymore of the electronics then it would be simple to figure out where the problem is. Unlike most potting compounds used, trucklite uses some kind of rock hard epoxy. You can't just scrape it out. You must soften it somehow.

Then there's the issue of reassembling and sealing the housing when done. There isn't a good way to get in there. I ended up using a high speed rotary saw around the outside edge to get it open. Really screwed the housing up during that process.

So as of right now, I do not have a fix to suggest. As much as I wish I did.

Has anyone contacted Trucklite to see what they say? They claim a lifespan of thousands of hours beyond incandescents, but the lights fail fairly often. Do they stand behind their products? Thankfully none of mine have failed yet.

They will make courtesy adjustments sometimes with a receipt bought from a retail parts location. 2nd hand used sales, internet, and all military/government sales would not qualify.
