hopefully that is a big over estimation. I had an all new shaft made for my rear at a driveline shop that also did a fair volume of big rigs too . Rear alone was only 600 will all new parts from scratch...... (3. Check drive shaft "hinging" (tolerance is essentially .000) and pay the money to have them rebuilt (<$2k) there are many tales of woe regarding vibration of engine accessories (especially the alternator) which I firmly believe is primarily due to drive-line issues....
