LMTV speedometer

Has anyone worked on or done troubleshooting on a speedometer? Mine hasn't functioned properly since I got my truck. The speedometer will register about 8-10 mph only and the odometer will click 1/10th for about every 1 mile driven. So it's not totally DOA but definitely doesn't work correctly. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

i haven't worked on mine,.... but it does show a average of 5 mph slower than i am actually going. (via gps comparison) what i think is odd though, according to highway mile markers, my odometer is spot on.

Check your trans keypad for errors

Thanks for the response although I don't really know what that means. Any further details?

The trans keypad can display error codes. Press arrow up and down at the same time to enter. The error code guide is available online. If the trans computer is getting the same bad input, there should be an error stored. Or it could just be a bad speedo.
