LMTV Transmission won't engage

You start in 2nd and have 6 forward gears. 1st is low range.

That is succinct, I still lost thinking of an integral output retarder

Does anyone have a step by step instruction video on how to remove the transmission solenoid pan? I know that the technical manual has the details on it but if I can see a video I'd prefer to. Even if you guys have some instructions that are better than the manual that would be great.
