I won an M931A2 tractor in Spart and M927 extended wheelbase 5 ton truck in Indianapolis.

I have some questions.

1. Is 10 days a hard limit, what happens on the 11th day?
2. Indianapolis and Sparta say "by appointment", but they do not list a number to make an appointment, how do I reach them?
3. When they say "no repairs on site", what do they mean? I am sure that they would not want me to cut up a truck for scrap with a torch, but about, say, changing batteries? Topping off fluids? etc

Every location has their own rules. For example at Ft Sill in OK, they will not allow any work. it must be hauled off base. Too many people causing problems. It isnt GL, it is the base commander. You can log into the GL website and pull up the location. The contact number should be listed. The contact number will also be on paid in full invoice. Call them and ask the base rules.

I had a 10:00 appointment at indy,we got there at 9 am and they let use in. We aired up all tires, checked all fluids, changed batteries in one of the trucks. We did not leave there till 2:00.

I've never done a recovery at Indianapolis, but the GL guys at Sparta are great. They helped me get my M35A3 going in the freezing cold and helped me check it out. Prior to the recovery, I contacted the GL reps at Sparta and asked for the name of a local wreckere company and telephone number in case I needed help and needed to move the truck away from Ft McCoy. I called the wrecker company and they had a wrecker standing by if needed - fortunately I didn't need it. PM me and I'll send you the number for the wrecker that was recommended, assuming the number is still good.

The number for the 1103 S Tibbs Ave in Indy is 1-602 228-5086 . You can arrange for an extension on your pickup with the site manager at this location . They are easy to work with there if you have any issues. Hope this helps

Indianapolis appears to be a truck center and not a military installation on Google maps. Can anyone confirm this? I'm doing a recovery there in the morning.

The Indy Truckcenter is not a military base, it is a commercial-like location, just off I-70 close to downtown, not far from where the Colts play. The direct phone number is 317-247-9550. I don't think they open right at 8, more like 8:30 or so. The area to the south is largely industrial, good streets to drive around on some rather than just jump right on the interstate.

Just realized I posted the number for the Jeff City, MO location :cookoo:. I concur with CWC , the first load outs start at 8:00 . I've purchased several trucks from this location and they are very easy to work with . Congrats on the purchase jedawson1[thumbzup]

Thanks Hmmwvenut, adding an M925 to my collection. This makes # 2 for my addiction and my third recovery. Next time I'm going to look for something older and smaller.

You could have army Jeff go thru your truck at sparta make sure it is ready to go and he could take it off base for you if you run out of time.
