Got off to the side of the road too far when they shouldn't have, an inexperienced driver they told me.Believe it or not the cab is not whacked, they plan on putting her back in service, still runs.I think this is a late 70's, nice truck, was hoping they were gonna part her out as I was eyeballing the tires and winch:-D. No such luck

All the way over I believe, think it ended up upside down.I talked to the Chief, not interested in selling or parting out, even though they do own this one.They told me they just picked up an A3 from Greenbriar, didn't see it though.

4.8 tons of JUST water weight in that truck. ((figured at 1200 gallons (2 each 600 gallon TPU tanks) total times eight pounds per gallon)) Not smart at all. Add in the weight of the tanks, pump, reels, and thats your recipie for disaster...

Not really too far over loaded but it was over the 5 ton "Per the books" limit.Wasn't the overloaded part that got it wrecked.Was the untrained driver behind the wheel.But,LUCKLY IT WAS OVERLOADED like that.If it had rolled without those 2 tanks in there or just one tank the driver would have been killed.Only thing that saved him was the tanks holding the truck up off the ground.

off road the weight limit is 2 and a half ton not 5 ton. besides it being in the tanks that make it way top heavy. (a man has got to know his limitations) a good friend of mine is always telling me this.

If the pods weren't on the truck and tied down well, that driver probably wouldn't be around today. The highest solid part of a standard M35 is the top of the motor, think about that during a rollover. JT

More fire apparatus roll overs are in tankers than any other vehicle. Usually it is because of driver error. The problem is, driving the tanker is a boring job, so some careless LT's or Captains make the rookie do it, versus making sure a expierenced driver/engineer drives it. I drove a Fire water tanker in iraq with very little tanker driving expierence, and there was a few times I tried to keep up with our Fire Engine that made my ******* puckerup. I learned quick that just cause the Tanker could go fast enough to keep up with the engine, didnt mean I should.
