looking for a deuce

Hi I am 14 years old me and my dad are looking for a duece that runs good and doesent have any problems. we live in the metro detroit area and we are close to ann-arbor michigan. My uncle has some dueces and 5-tons so we have been in them before and have a basic understanding of military vehicles. Our budget is prefferably around 4000 so if anyone knows of any dueces forsale in the area let me know please. we have read many of the threads on the forum and the attachment called ''so you want to buy a duece'' and understanded it.

Maxtaylor78, hey check out ( blckdblnckl ) hes from the Howell area and has two Dueces for sale . His job in the army was a heavy-wheel vehicle mechanic . So I can only imagine how well he keeps his Dueces in great shape

A lot (most?) people here get their MV's from Government Surplus Auctions at Government Liquidation where you can pick one up for $1500 or less. That leaves you and your dad $2500 for repairs, add-ons, locking hubs, super single tires, winches, and other goodies. Parts are plentiful and fairly cheap.

There are auctions all over the US so wait for one near you where you can go and check them out. Don't be scared away by one that isn't so pretty as long as it is mechanically solid with no rust. Pay very little attention to the mileage and hours because they are absolutely no indication of the actual mileage. Look for leaks and try to start the truck if the lot attendant will let you.
