So it's fall my favorite season. Lots of projects goin on with some M1009's. I wanted to share what I get to do everyday with you guys and thank you all. This forum is really an incredible resource. The ideas and help that you guys give me is incredible. I know alot of our customers are on here and I thank them too for allowing me to do this everyday!

Sorry about the pics I couldnt get them to load right then I noticed the header about the pics being down anyways.

PROJECT: BANKS
I did the Banks engineering turbo kit a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. One of our customers picked up a m1009 from us and the first thing he wanted was a turbo. We got the kit in and started fitting it up and it went pretty smoothly. We wrapped the down pipe and the crossover pipe with header wrap. That really helped with underhood heat, as well as the supplied heat wrap. The kit has a boost guage and a egt guage and we mounted those next to the diag port below the dash. It builds 10psi boost and the egts hit almost max but they are pretty dialed in to not get out of control.

PROJECT: RADIO TRUCK
So, we started a little project in the shop to play with with parts from parts vehicles and such. It's getting a 4" lift right now and it already has a fresh paint job (CARC) in a desert camo type scheme. It also has a cowl hood, Very Cool. It's looking really good and it's only been in the works for a week or so. Were going to be using it to show what we can do to our sales vehicles and to take to shows and such, nothing crazy just fun.

PROJECT: OVERDRIVE
I also started a 700r4 conversion for a customer, Rebuilt the tranny myself. It was quite a challange as it was my first trans all on my own but it air checked ok. We're waiting on the proper torque converter to install it. Also this vehicle is getting 2.5-3" lift. ORD flip shackle kit, ORD greasable bushings, ORD steering box brace, ORD sway bar disconnects, new front springs from tuff country as well as shocks. This truck is really fun! It's also currently on a lift getting its lift put on since I'm waiting for the torque converter.

PROJECT: DESERT
This M1009 is a customer unit. It is desert tan CARC I swapped the column on it so it has a different steering wheel. It got a factory stereo, and will get a cb radio. It didnt run when I got it to the shop , It needed a lift pump, replaced it and the truck fired right up. Went through the electronics and fixed a few small issues. It'll be getting a good dashpad and bezel. It's also getting a new 24v volt meter for the dash.

PROJECT: SWAT
This truck is cool! Flat Black CARC with a cowl hood, stereo, tach, tilt column conversion, swapped out the seats for some cloth seats, It also has bedliner in the rear area, vynil floor with sound deadening, and tinted windows. I really like the way this truck looks!

PROJECT: UNNAMED
We did this cool project over the summer, It's got factory A/C, 4" lift, 35" tires, marker lights and a desert camo CARC paint job. It looked reallly good! I was really happy with this one!

PROJECT: UNNAMBED
This is the boss man's truck, slowly coming together, Massive high articulation lift, CB radio, factory radio, Winch and winch bumper. It's got a nv-4500 conversion with a hydralic clutch and an advanced adaptor bellhousing, tilt column swap, and a tachometer. Paint doesnt quite match anymore since we added more parts but eventually it'll match. It's really alot of fun.

Congrats on you promotion Brian, I havent logged on for some time now. You right the shop looks like Army depot repair bay. [thumbzup] I would like to call my truck/project just "1028" . We got to get the ball joint replaced on it and add camber shims, maybe we could do a write up on it together.

Good job..

Question about the cowl hood....LMC or Goodmark??
I'll be passing through Denver right before Turkey day. I'd love to bring the truck and drop it off.......too bad I wont be driving it.
Keep up the great work!!

Those are goodmark hoods. They fit pretty well just a few small adjustments i've noticed to make them fit really well. You should definatly stop by PM me and I'll get ya the address. That black truck is really nice, you can barely tell its a cucv anymore with all the modifications!

Remove the plastic inst cluster bezel (philips screwdriver) there is a philips screw on the right side will need a short driver. Remove the radio accessory plate if you have one. Then remove 3-4 small bolts along bottom. No problem. Getting it back in place is bit of challenge but not a big one just popping the part closet to the glass incorrectly.

ok i'm a nobbie to the hobby, but so far i have really enjoyed my m1008 i picked it up a few weeks ago from a friend and have been doing little things here and there. my question is concerning the steering column, how hard is it to install a tilt column from a civilian truck into mine. is the column harness the same and do i need to stick with a column from a diesel? i noticed on one of the projects posted above that it mentions a tilt conversion so i thought this might be the best place to ask. thanks for the help.
