loud, DEEP tone air horn?

so, needless to say I am unimpressed with my horn, and I've already had to use it a handful of times. It's loud, but WAY too high pitched. I want something that sounds more like a semi horn, or even a train horn.
I attempted to "modify" my horn with what little I had- I put an echo chamber over the horns. It's so tight in there that's all I could do, can't fit longer horns. It sounded the same, really.

Is the 5 ton or 10 ton horn louder and will it bolt in place?

I was next thinking of taking some really long 22 inch horns, then bending them into a u-shape and putting them in place of the stock horns, without ever moving the air lines or compressor, just the stacks

I tried that sneaking in bit once. Thought I would be smart and coast in the last 600' or so. Shut the truck down and much to my demise the dang squeaks and whining sound alerted everyone in the house to my presence, including the 2 yr old.

Was listening to Bob and Tom once, they had a semi driver who called in and had somehow rigged up a train horn on his rig... DANG was that thing loud! They asked him, "is that even legal?" The reply? "Uhhh..... we're checkin on that...." (Aka NO).

You adjust them by turning the little allen set-screw on the back of each trumpet.

I got mine to sound like a train.

no kidding? is it really that simple? What does the set screw do?

Guys, the set screw adjusts the diaphram and thus the pitch of the horn. If you really want loud air horns get a set called "Organ Tones" from Navistar/International Trucks. I had two on each of my semis and they were the LOUDEST legal horns I could get. Believe me they were the deepest eye rattling, teeth vibrating, feel-in-your-chest-and-kidneys horns I ever heard short of those wonderful train horns!

Yeah i got one of those train horns on mine, well three really....I get alot of "Jeepers Creepers i thought the darn train fell off the tracks and i looked out and its a huge como truck coming down the road, those are some huge tires." the funny part is they all the almost the excat same thing

Train horns are basically three or four truck horns melded into one really big a$$ horn.

I am happy with the deuce horns, mine seem to be pretty darn loud, the higher pitch dosen't bother me. I have a set of train horns on my bus, at 120 psi they echo off of the buildings. Great fun to follow a car over the railroad tracks and blow the horn. :devil: They look like crazy for a train, never to think a school bus has air horns. They are bigger than the photo shows, If I get time I will get a pic of them on the bus for scale.

The allen bolt on the back of the Deuce horns are easy to adjust. I've really gone LLLLLLOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW with mine

I've had the "wanna be" train horns on my Super Duty. They're nothing like the Nathan P3s that are on there now. Found them on ebay for about $350. The neighbors love me, I just know they do.....

Does anyone have a single horn bell that they want to sell cheap? My horn works but is missing one of the bells. Makes a horrible squeal noise. Kinda dissapointing to the kids making the "honk honk" hand signal request.
