LU-4 Winch part ID help needed

I rebuilt my LU-4 winch and have this part that I cannot ID on the diagram. Anyone recognize it? The only place it really fits is at the bottom of the shift shaft where the circle clip is located (under the dimple disk)

Here is a nice break down link for you. I think that ring may be in the shaft area there so the dimple disc doesn't go into the housing too far...

I think you are correct. That is where it is going for now "for safe keeping."
