The "cap nut wrench" holds the outer lug net and you turn the inner one with the BII lug wrench or what have you ( impact gun ?) as so the tighten the inner nut; i.e. if the wheelset came from the driver'side of the truck turn it counterclockwise. Keep a block of wood under the wheel and the inner nuit will eventually fall out on the bottom.

My 3/4 inch drive gun, when fed with a 1/2" hose, is rated at 950lbs feet of torque Cost me $100

Sorry folks. Can somebody explain how the pork chop thing works. In my case when trying to loosen the nut for the outer wheel the thimble of the inner one turns loose instead. I don't understand how this tool will help. Turning both loose at bit, install this tool and then tighten the inner to break the nut loose ?

Yes, anchor the pork chop and tighten the inner nut. It will force the outside nut loose at the same time. I am seriously thinking about buying a second one for my other deuce. You know it will be in the wrong truck when I am on the road. I recently ran into the inner nut turning on three out of six lugs in a trailer, but thankfully, the wheels were not pinched tight.

Thanks, got it. Looks like I need one. All my inners turn when trying to get the nut loose and I had so far no idea what to do about this. Maybe on my next trip over the pond...

I was kind of disappointed at how easy the bar bends.

A friend came up with a solution for this problem several years ago(and no he didn't invent Viagra).
He ground the end of a Chrysler front suspension torsion bar down to fit in the hole of the lug wrench.
The spring steel of the torsion bar will bend, but return to shape afterwards.

You can jump on the bar, or put all your weight into pulling on it.
I don't recommend pushing on it, as the spring steel stores some energy, and when you reach the nut's release torque....you will hear a loud pop and you do need to be ready for this to occur.

Most of the old torsion bar Mopars have been junked by now, but 1988-? GM 4x4's use torsion bar front suspension, so that may be a source to look to.

I bought one of these direct from the website. I used it today and it broke the lugs loose on my bobbed deuce project. Everybody was impressed with it. $160 may seem steep to some, though.

My father in law from being a logger for so many years has some 1" breaking bars with steel pipes slid over the handles and welded on. It makes for some grand leverage, just weighs about 10lbs.
