I use my truck quite a bit and it has been great. Yesterday I drove a 100 mi round trip. After the truck sat a few hrs I started it up, all was normal till I reved the motor. The rpms would hang for a second after I let the throttle up. Once the truck ran down the road for 10 min it was fine. What should I look for as I am sure this means something is wearing out.

Sounds like a common symptom of an air leak in the fuel system.
