M101A1 Trailer

I am new here I have an m101a1, and looking to change out the axle to an 8 lug, maybe replace the bed (generator bed has tons of holes in it). Gotta find canvas, wood surgebrake etc. Gonna be a fun project.

For all that, I'd sell it and find an A2. It will have the 8lug, surgebrake and probably better bed all ready on it.

I would but a friend gave it too me, and besides I enjoy tinkering

The purchase of a M101A2 is simply the easyer way. And this trailer leaves enought tinkering to rebuilt .

Buy a A2 and have 2 trailers, that is what I did. To much cost and no brakes to boot..

Its the only way to go...... Keep it and buy an A2. Besides that, you need to keep your eye out for an M37. Only then will you feel whole.

The parts cost will exceed the the price of a whole trailer, by at least twice. Common sense would say, find a different project to tinker on and save a bunch of money.

Not really since wheels and brake drums fit an m37 I will sell those
