M101A2-A3. Best Overall Military Trailer Ever??

I really agree about the M101 A2 and A3 being the best overall utility trailers. I've had a few, and sold all but the one in the pic's. I got it about two years ago, and it was brand new. Not a mark in the bed. I am curious as to some of the markings. It has a plate, which has the manufacturer listed as VSE Corp 2004 cage # 31902 and a sticker stating " ECS/AMSA 90 RRC" and "RESET" on the trailer tub. It has a M116A3 data plate on the chassis also with a date of 2004, which seems pretty late. I have since repainted it, but when I bought it It had a "shadow" below the VSE data plate where a larger data plate had been. Anyone know any info on the sticker? You can see the shadow of the removed data plate in the last pic.

My best guess was it was built by Kasel Mfg Co. sometime after 1988 within the 1988-19?? contract period. It was rebuilt in 2004 by VSE Corp. The M116A3 data plate may indicate it was a generator trailer originally before rebuild by VSE and the mounting of a cargo trailer tub, OR someone just screwed up and put the wrong data plates on the chassis. If there are 5-8 open bolt holes in the floor, there may have been a generator installed after the VSE rebuild and the RESET tag refers to the refurbishment of the generator.

No holes in the floor.....In fact the floor of the trailer is like new. No scratches dents or holes.

Would like a part number for the jack if you could.

New data plates installed upon reset.
Most likely a mid 90's model or earlier.

Glad this one got trucked or railroaded over to RRAD so I was able to make short road trip to recover. Camo bedliner inside black underneath is nice. Missing the jack handle, I envision a large crate somewhere with the 5000 handles that were never issued. I've heard they exist but I have my doubts.......

Installed new gates in the back AND front on the tan M101A2.
Just made a very versatile trailer even more so.

Will be installing new cargo D-ring tie downs soon.

Naw they got melted down as scrap just because they didn't put a holder on the trailers for them. No such beast in the military as authorized loose gear. So I would think most were thrown in the recycle bin.

There's a holder for them, they pin right to the landing leg. Easily lost though.

Have you thought about the recessed cargo tiedowns like were a add-on to the M35 and 5 tons?

Thought about it, but requires too big a hole to cut.
The ones I'm using are rated to 11k.
More than strong enough for what I need.

Yeah the strength of yours are great and those holes are scary to cut but the rotation and recessed on the floor are big pluses to me and they are good drains, I use the ones in my 1101 all the time. I think I am going to add them to my 105 body that I am going to to put on my 116A3 chassis.
