Ok stupid question. I picked up a nice old 8 lug 16” Chevy steel wheel for a spare. It didn’t come with a valve stem. Can I just use the cheap rubber TR425 valve stems they sell at Autozone and the like? Or do these wheels require a special valve stem?

Standard sizing "should" play. There's a marginal difference with rubber stems depending on the pressure you'll run. Discount will throw one in it for ya.

It can use a standard rubber stem but mine needed the bigger diameter not the regular auromotive one. Used on older 3/4 & 1 ton

Tr425 is the correct bigger diameter.
