M1061A vs. M1061E Trailer

I know that this is trailer question but hopefully someone here may know the answer. I have an M923 5 ton with a M1061E trailer. I see most of the M1061 trailers have an A designation, Curious as to the difference between the A and E models. I have visited the SS trailer site and the M1061 manual but no mention of this model.

Here's my take:

The suffixes following the letter designator are revision level. "A1" is the first revision level which has been adopted and accepted as the new standard."E1" would be the first revision level while being tested and before being adopted as the new standard.

Thanks for your reply. You may be right but the serial number on my trailer is 1424 when other trailers of the same type have serial numbers over 2000.
