Total of 5 manuals for the M1070. 2 copies of the -10, LO, unit level maintenance, and crew protection kit.

I checked before I downloaded them.

Here is the link to a tar.gz file with all the manuals. Total size is 409 MB. You will need a way to untar it, I prefer 7zip on windows, MAC, and linux can do it automatically.

Files were downloaded from ETM, tar'd, and uploaded to google drive using my acer chromebook running ubuntu 14.04 LTS with ClamAV.

Hola NDT , thanks for your advice i would download the manuals,
Ive found the problem , it was the position sensors i just replaced from a used engine that i have from an auction and it start rightaway , now i will try to get a new ones just un case,
I tried to clean the bad sensors and remove metal debris but they wont work

Hey, on my '93 1070, I rebuilt the front alternator (24v) and installed new batteries. Amp gauge in dash shows about 20, truck runs fine all day but turn it off and just click click dead batteries. Any ideas? Rear alternator maybe now?

No one has covered, in this thread - that I have seen, insurance and drivers license requirements for M1070 on public roads. I just bought one and am trying to figure out what kind of trouble I'm into.
We intend to Haul a M18 and/or M60 tanks with this beast(No the tanks aren't mine - Steve Preston's). The old farm plate trick probably wont work here in Oregon.

I had assumed CDL? or no CDL??

Hoping goodguyzy will chime in and I also hope to meet up with him - HET convoy!!

I also want to thank all the contributors on SS. The information and experience is PRICELESS.[thumbzup]

I don't have any answers for you other than that the answers to your questions will be specific to your state. What works in California, Maine, and Florida will likely be different than what will work in Oregon.

My insurance is through a broker with progressive. Ive registered my m916 as a collectors vehicle but the HET I drive so infrequently I use trip permits. I will be registering as a collectors vehicle soon though. That limits you to club/events. I also have a class A CDL.

Rebuilt alternator, tests 27 volt at the shop, installed in tractor and puts out 15ish...? 12v alt puts out 14v all good. Any suggestions?

Wiring tied together somewhere between the 12V and 24V?? Is there a way the 12 v can be disconnected or isolated and then check the 24V on the truck? all my other MVs are 12V or 24 V only.
Also a large load can pull an alternator "down". From your last post(ran it for a while, turned it off, tried to start it again and click click" it sounded like you had a huge drain and/or a bad alternator. Always ensure all your ground points are good(a visual inspection is not sufficient - must take them apart and clean them or use a meter with the ground lead isolated.) Whenever I have electrical issues - try to return the wiring to stock. Usually someone has added or changed something from stock.

Maybe PM the "expert" Dieselfreak88M in this early pages of this thread. He is very good at HET information. I'm planning on hiring him if I win the lottery to make my HET run really nice.

Maybe this will help someone - Basic electrical trouble shooting:
Check the source - Right voltage and polarity. Clean terminals - ensure they are tight.
Check all fuses - right size, no corrosion
Check all grounds - Clean - no corrosion.
Look for burns - use a thermal viewer and look for hot spots.
Look for worn wires that are now bare. Repair accordingly. If you want to fix it only once - use solder and shrink tubing. Crimp connecters can often cause problems.
Finally - "walk" the circuit(you should use a schematic if possible - with a meter measuring voltage and/or resistance. Follow the wiring to switches/gages/relays and verify power going in to the device. if that is good verify power out. if that is good keep going. Sooner or later you are going to find the problem.

Thank you for the information. I just had my mechanic digging through it, checking relays and such. He's going to call the manufacturer tomorrow and try getting a wiring schematic and/or some of their knowledge as well!
