M1088a1 wtech lll no power check trans light on

Still fairly new member
01 s&s m1088a1 trans went into limp mode (stuck in 2nd gear) when stoped shut off engine tryed to refire and nothing only cranks when starter solenoid is crossed over
Wtech lll will not light up swaped it out with another and nothing
Put it in another one of our trucks and works fine
Swapped out breakers and nothing
Anyone has an idea where we should go from here would be greatly appreciated

No one but yourself and moderators know what forum you originally posted in. This is in the FMTV forum now though and this fits well.... since its an FMTV

Haha he posted in the TM upload forum, was not possible to answer post until now. Sounds like your transmission harness has shorted wires. Check the harness end to end very carefully.

No power to trans control or bad trans controller. Located behind passenger kick panel upper left. Could be pcb power panel related also. Cab to trans harness issues will give a fault usually not dead keypad.

Ended up being the Trans ECU behind the kickpanel. We swapped it out with another one of our trucks and she’s back rolling, thanks everyone for your assistance.

Oh I see when you said you swapped the WTECIII you meant the keypad only. I thought you meant the ECU. That makes sense. Send your broken ECU to transmissioninstruments.com for free diagnosis. He can fix them most of the time.
