M109 VIN question need help

Do you have the truck yet? Or is it still at GL? Does it have a title yet?

OK, I see what the problem is. It won't show up as a valid VIN until I send the info to GL for the SF-97?

In other words, the info on the SF-97 will determine how the VIN is listed in the state's records?

At least the information from Carnac should verify the Serial and Registration numbers, I assume.

There will be no state record until they create one. There is no connection between the state level databases and the military system, nor with the SF-97 process.

Whatever VIN is on the SF-97 is what the clearks will have to enter.

Thanks, obviously I still have things to learn in the process.

The DMV folks are generally clueless as well.

Long story short, once you get your truck in your posession, verify the VIN on the frame, send that number to GL for an SF-97, and then take that to the DMV. In some states the DMV will require they or a LEO verify the VIN since it isn't a "standard" VIN format.
