The interior roof insulation was dry rotted and therefore removed by scraping and with a pressure washer. However, the adhesive needs much more attention. So, should I remove with old rags, acetone, and elbow grease or could I just reapply new adhesive over the top? I plan on repalcing with original OEM insulation panels. Thnx in advance.

Oh and just to clarify, the lighter fluid softens up the adhesive to scrape off, DO NOT LIGHT IT ON FIRE. I mean, I'm sure that would work too but DON'T DO IT. The label even says it can be used to remove adhesive or labels as one of its uses.
