OK, after crossing some #'s, the Monroe 32301 is the OE fit for a 1971 Blazer- so if the parts houses are not having any luck looking it up, just ask for a rear shock for a 71 blazer!

34944 shocks will involve removing the metal sleeve inside the rubber bushing....otherwise it will not fit over the bolt.....im in the midst of trying to remove that metal sleeve...its not coming out easily.....

anyway..just an fyi..update.....

thanks to emmado22 for trying to help........he did put the lights on for me so i wouldnt be working in the dark...lol....:-o:)fat lady sings

i used my tap and die set.......they finally came out.......but.....maybe one of the other stock numbers will be a direct replacement with the least amount of trouble.....
